NEW DELHI: Mega budget airline IndiGo<\/a> has partnered with Insight Aviation to select and train ab-initio pilots under cadet pilot programme to meet its growing demand for pilots for fast growing fleet.<\/p>\n

“Insight Aviation offers a comprehensive program that goes beyond aviation training to include mentoring, professional guidance and preparation for a career in the industry. Training is provided at its newly opened facility in Gurugram with flight training conducted overseas at one of its authorised flight training organisations,” the airline said.<\/p>\n

Insight Aviation CEO captain Jati Dhillon said: “This partnership\u2026 gives young people the opportunity to pursue their dreams of becoming an airline pilot during an intense period of pilot demand. Insight Aviation has a unique understanding of the roadblocks that are restricting the size of the pilot pool… By removing these roadblocks from the student experience, we will attract a diverse group of dedicated professional aviators to IndiGo<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

IndiGo<\/a> senior VP (flight operations) captain Ashim Mittra said: “We are happy to introduce Insight Aviation as one of the newest entries into our cadet pilot programme, an initiative that we believe is changing the airline industry in India\u2026 We are excited to partner with Insight Aviation in training career-oriented pilots for IndiGo<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Selected cadets will undergo a three-month ground schooling at Insight Aviation’s training centre in Gurugram, followed by nine months of flight training at its authorised flight training organization (FTO) in Port Alfred<\/a>, South Africa. Upon the return of cadets to India, Insight Aviation will manage the conversion of their South African CAA license into Indian DGCA<\/a> license before they proceed to an authorised Aviation Training Organization (ATO) for Airbus A320 type rating course.<\/p>\n
